Lacto Calamine Daily Face Care Lotion for Oil (For Oily Skin) Balance Review

Hello my dear skin care family 😊

I am Shubham Singh and I am passionate about helping you how to perfect your skin care game.

This is the review of "Lacto Calamine Daily Face Care Lotion for Oil Balance". Yes you heard it right today I am going to review this very famous product.

**Let me first clarify that I am just a skin care enthusiast and not a certified dermatologist so if you are suffering from severe skin problems then I request you to see your dermatologist. I would like to clarify that this is not a sponsored article I have spent my own money on this product.**

Before starting the review let me give a brief about my skin- I am a oily-combination skin type and my skin is extremely acne prone and sensitive. I tend to get acne literally anything I put on my skin. So if your problems and skin are similar to mine then this post can be helpful to you. So let's start.

Packaging and Pricing

I have bought the Purple cap variant  because it says For Oily Skin. If your skin type is from combination to dry then you should go for the green cap one. Lacto Calamine comes in a plastic bottle which is slim and handy. The quantity we get here is 120ml. The bottle comes with no pump. You have to tilt the bottle in order to get the cream out.

I bought the Lotion form Flipkart and at the time of this post it costs Rs.204 for 120ml of product and Rs 304 for 240ml of product.
On amazon it costs Rs 168 for 120ml of product.

Claims and Ingredient List

The claims are that Lacto Calamine makes your skin moisturised while absorbing excess oil and makes your skin smooth without cracking and stretching feel.

Let's see the Ingredient List

The ingredient list is quite mysterious and only key ingredients are mentioned as we don't know the emulsifiers, preservatives and perfumes are used and it has added colours.

Let's talk about the key ingredients:

Kaolin : It contains natural minerals that absorb excess oil from the skin.

Glycerin : It retains natural moisture of skin and prevents loss of moisture.

Zinc Oxide : Zinc Oxide is a great ingredient which has anti germ properties and gives some sun protection.

Application and Consistency

It has a very thick consistency and has a cream/foundation texture. Its application is quite hard as there is not pump system and you have to tilt the bottle to extract the lotion from the bottle. While applying it gives some white cast but after absorption the white cast vanishes. It has very strong fragrance which doesn't go even after hours.

My Experience

My experience with this lotion is a love and hate relationship. I like that it gives my oily-combination skin a mattifying look. It did not gave my any acne whatsoever. The kaolin clay and zinc oxide keeps the skin oil free and tight but when it comes to moisturising effects I don't think that it worked good for my oily skin after its application my skin feels that it still requires some moisture. May be I should have gone for the green cap version as it is for the combination skin. The product has quite a strong fragrance so if you are someone who is allergic from fragrance then I would not recommend this for you.

Pros

  • Good in controlling excess oil
  • Makes skin feel firm and smooth
  • Helps to reduce dark spots
  • Gives some degree of sun protection
  • Has a BB cream effect

Cons

  • Not so good packaging (should have gone for pump packaging)
  • Very thick consistency and hard to spread on face
  • Very Strong fragrance

Conclusion

It is a good product it did not gave me any acne. It keeps excess oil at bay. It helps in reducing dark spots. But when it comes to proper moisturisation it did not helped much and the strong fragrance is not that nice if you are allergic to it. But I have found out a great use of it. This product is really good for spot correction so if you have any blemishes and dark spots you can apply dots of this product after applying your moisturiser.

I hope you liked the review. Follow for more skin care posts.

Bye-Bye
